The Creative Pen is a writing studio on 5th Avenue North in downtown Saint Petersburg, Florida, founded and led by Tirena G Chiavacci. The studio exists for one reason: to help people say what they mean, beautifully.
Tirena's own path to the studio ran through years of writing, teaching, and editing - and through the discovery that the loneliest part of writing is doing it alone. The Creative Pen was built to end that loneliness, pairing writers with patient readers and practical craft.
From first drafts to final polish, from nervous beginners to seasoned memoirists, our door is open to anyone who loves language or needs it to work harder for them. In a city famous for its light, we tend to the other kind of illumination: the kind that happens on the page.
